Old Barn in Missouri

Nov 172014

Sometimes photo editing helps to jump start the old creativity, so I played around with a picture of a sunset I took in 2010.

I liked the picture, but it was a little bland. I wanted something more vibrant, so this is what I came up with.

Arkansas Sunset Edit

The original picture was taken from a moving car while we were driving through Arkansas. I went a little overboard on the edit, but it’s fun to play. This is the original picture.

While we were on vacation, we stopped off at Mystic Caverns in Arkansas on the way home. The caves were amazing and everyone was so friendly. Stepping into the cool caves after sweating in the heat was so refreshing and I was so busy listening to the guide, I almost forgot to take pictures. Of the pictures I did take, this one is my favorite.

I was hoping to get a chance to post another Arkansas sunset and this week’s theme fit perfectly.

Let there be light! Many of you already know that the photo in photography means light. More often than not, though, we shy away from actually showing its source in our photos. In time for the shortest days of the year (at least in the northern hemisphere), let’s give our trusty lightbulbs, flickering candles, and pedestrian street lamps their due respect.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO THAT FEATURES A LIGHT SOURCE.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light!

This picture was taken from the car while we were driving through Arkansas in 2010. The sunset was ever changing. Fascinated, I took many pictures, but this is one of my favorites. I’m sure others will make it here in time.

See the fishy? Looks like an angelfish to me.
