Fire and snow are two of my favorite photography subjects just behind my grandson and Mister Underfoot. Now that we have a fire pit, which was given to my husband for his birthday by two awesome people, I’m hoping to get both subjects in one shot.

I’ve posted several snow/winter pictures, so I thought I’d add some fire to the mix. I love the purple color to the coals in the first picture. Not sure why silver maple tree wood looked purple, but it was very pretty.

In the words of Ray Bradbury, “Just write every day of your life…”. Your mission is to write five haikus — one for each of the five days leading up to this Friday…

Haiku challenge – Day 1

I love layers in all things. Characters in books, plotting, photos, food, clothing, and people. Layers make things more interesting. Getting to the center, middle, or truth depending on how you look at it, is usually an adventure worth having.

Layering clothing is just smart, but I suppose there could be an adventure there as well… ;>

Layers – what’s underneath it all?

Flower Layers
I like it when the deeper you go with the character, the more you see the layers start to peel away.

Sunset on the Farm #1Sunset on the Farm #1

Southeastern Kansas sunset.  The picture was taken on a farm in Wellington, KS where the brick and mortar Countrysidewalk Trading Post resides.

With the orange tones and dark foreground, Sunset on the Farm #1 makes for wonderful fall decor.

It’s a beautiful rainy fall day outside. My flowers are covered with little rain droplets. It’s just chilly enough to need a jacket, but not cold enough to stay inside. The leaves in the trees are changing to brillant hues of gold, red, orange, yellow, and purple.

This is by far my favorite time of year.
